Hi! My name is Lukas, and like most of us wanting to compose epic soundtracks, I’m by far no expert. I’m composing for three years now and managed to write music for some smaller projects. All I try to do here is to pass my learning by doing experience to you.
We all start to learn at some point, but it’s way better to start together.
The first track I wrote was in early 2016, an orchestral track with a dwarven-inspired theme in it. Even though I'm playing in an orchestra for over 17 years now as a percussionist, I couldn't figure out the basic composing patterns at that time. It took me a lot of motivation to finally push myself further into a course and dive deeper into writing music.
At the beginning of 2021, I finally found my way of approaching massive orchestral statements. I have done this by taking courses, experimenting, gathering information, and quick tips wherever I could. I started writing things down to have easy access for a later point in time. This is the main principle of this page; to pass topic-specific learnings to people at the very beginning of their composing experience.

I like to think in patterns so that music theory can be reduced to simple illustrated structures and correlations
